Virtual Labs are web-enabled platforms for conducting experiments via simulations. They are intended to provide remote access and enthuse students about performing ‘experiments’ and thereby getting them interested in their respective disciplines in a meaningful way. A consortium of 12 participating institutes, nationally coordinated by IIT Delhi is engaged in the design and development of Virtual labs for a range of subjects in different disciplines.
The objective of the Virtual Labs Workshop is to provide Engineering and Science faculty an opportunity to get hands on demonstrations of the large number of virtual labs being designed and developed at IIIT-H. It is also an opportunity to provide feedback on the effective utilization of virtual labs in supporting the existing curricula.
The workshop starts at 11 A.M. and concludes at 6 P.M. and broadly consists of the following. Talks by eminent researchers, research faculty, and technologists Showcase and demonstration of IIIT-H’s virtual labs Practical sessions on the virtual labs for participants Panel discussion on strategies for effective integration of virtual labs in curricula
The workshop participants will also have the opportunity attend the R & D Showcase on Saturday, February 26, and view an array of over 150 research exhibits and demonstrations. Visit http://www.iiit.ac.in/randd/ for more details about the R & D Showcase.
