Request for Proposal for Consultancy in Software Engineering for Machine Translation System

1. Goal: The goal of the Request for Proposals (RFP) is to invite proposals on software engineering and related functions of a Machine Translation project running at IIIT-Hyderabad. Expression of Interest is invited.


2. Eligibility / Requirements for the RFP:

- To work on a large Natural Language Processing (NLP) Application being developed by
a Consortium of eleven academic / research institutions, coordinated by IIITH

- Re-engineering code of around fourteen modules, some having legacy code, to make it
structured and robust

- Protection of the IPR of all NLP resources created by various institutions

- Extensive module testing and System integration with comprehensive regression testing with
each version release, usually once every six months

- Distribution and packaging of NLP System and Sub-systems

 
3. Required Manpower for providing Services of Engineers with following experiences (at IIIT
Hyderabad):

 Position: Junior Software Engineers (3 Nos. on full time basis)
Qualification: B.Tech / MCA with minimum of one year experience in Software Engineering

Position: Senior Software Engineers (2 in Nos. on full time):
Qualification: B.Tech / MCA with minimum of five years experience in Software Engineering
and good working knowledge of Language Technology

Position: Group Coordinator (Software Engineering) (1 No. on Full / Part Time)
Qualification: B.Tech / MCA with minimum of ten years experience in Software Engineering,
and at least five years experience at senior project management level.

5. Application Procedure:

  1. The interested organizations may submit a proposal by 25th June 2010 to the undersigned. It should describe all the information along with your financial bid. Description of the capability of the team, past work done should be described.

  2. Based on the expression of interest, proposals will be short listed  tentatively  by 30th June 2010.
